Leeds v Man Utd player ratings: Dominic Calvert-Lewin thwarts Man Utd – who scored highest?

Manchester United have gone six games without a win for the first time since 2019 after a Premier League draw with Leeds United. Bryan Mbeumo put United ahead, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin controlled and finished to level for Leeds.

Calvert-Lewin was the highest-rated player on the pitch with an 8. Here is how every player rated.

Leeds United player ratings

James Trafford (7): Brave enough to race 30 yards out of his box to clear when failure to execute would have been disastrous. Leeds defenders know they can give him the ball under pressure.

James Justin (6): Swung over a couple of early crosses to test the visitors’ defence but was caught on his heels by Mbeumo for the United goal.

Nico Elvedi (7): His near-post header almost put Leeds in front.

Tarik Muharemovic (7): Calm in possession, although the visitors’ set-up left him with no-one to mark at times. He posed a major threat at the other end, with a header setting up Calvert-Lewin’s equaliser.

Jayden Bogle (7): An attacking threat from wing-back as Leeds pushed forward. He had a shot saved by Lammens.

Ethan Ampadu (6): Lucky to get away with no card for a late tackle on Mbeumo at the start. Otherwise delivered his usual assured display.

Ao Tanaka (6, off 79, Longstaff): Maybe a little too cautious at times. He got into the game as Leeds pressed after the leveller, and sent a long-range effort over.

Gabriel Gudmundsson (7): Caught Andrey Santos from behind and was booked. He did really well to force Amad back when the Ivorian wanted to run free on goal.

Anton Stach (6): Wasn’t able to control midfield duels in the opening period, but was better in the second half.

Noah Okafor (6, off 72, Nmecha): Had no chance to repeat his Old Trafford heroics. He lashed a second-half shot over and made a poor pass when he might have released Calvert-Lewin.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (8): Grew into the game after a subdued start. One first-half header went wide and another in the second went straight at Lammens. He was strong enough to control the ball and apply the finish to level.

Lukas Nmecha (5, on 72, Okafor): Worked hard to try to create.

Subs not used: Zetterer, Wilson, Aaronson, Bijol, Bahoya, Bard, Gruev.

Manchester United player ratings

Senne Lammens (7): Made a good save to deny Elvedi and put in a solid performance.

Leny Yoro (6): Given a stern physical test despite starting at right-back. He has been thrown in at the deep end this season.

Harry Maguire (7): Another largely solid display. He came out on top in the one-to-one duel with Calvert-Lewin in the first half but found it much harder in the second.

Lisandro Martinez (6, off 46, Mazraoui): Kept his place despite inflammatory comments and was cheered by United fans and booed by Leeds supporters. He did well enough before being replaced at the break.

Diogo Dalot (6): Yet another different left-back option. He held his own, but he shouldn’t really be in that position.

Andrey Santos (7): Another industrious performance, which raised the question of why he had been used so sparingly previously.

Carlos Baleba (7): Keen to get on the ball and carry it forward. His partnership with Santos brings energy. He even tried a 25-yard shot, but it was off target.

Amad Diallo (6): His pace was a threat, even if the visitors didn’t make the most of it. A second-half shot was blocked.

Youri Tielemans (7): Delivered an excellent cross for Mbeumo’s opener. More effective with two midfielders behind him.

Bruno Fernandes (6): Had another tough afternoon in a difficult season so far. He overhit a free-kick in a dangerous position and sent it out for a throw, then was booked for a late tackle on Muharemovic. Everything seems forced and a struggle at the moment.

Bryan Mbeumo (7): Started in an inside-left position and tried to link play, but it was not a natural role. He should have scored with a first-half header and didn’t threaten with another opportunity, but he persevered and eventually got his goal. He was not strong enough to hold off Calvert-Lewin for the equaliser.

Noussair Mazraoui (6, on 46, Martinez): Leeds were more of a threat when he came on. He made a vital injury-time block.

Mason Mount (6, on 72, Baleba): Can be effective and tried to create, but had limited impact.

Subs not used: Darlow, De Ligt, Rashford, Zirkzee, Lacey, Amass.
